Reporting on the development of our cultural history

Catalonia’s rich cultural heritage can be exploited in a wide variety of ways, not least as a major element of the region’s attractiveness as a tourist destination. The number of people using this resource is constantly increasing. For these reasons, issues related to cultural heritage are being increasingly prioritised, and accurate knowledge of its key features is therefore vital.

The purpose of the institute is to promote high-quality research organised in two main areas of priority: ‘heritagisation’ processes and the use of cultural heritage. The ICRPC hopes to increase the number of people dedicated to cultural heritage, and at the same time, become a support and reference centre for the many agents working with our cultural heritage.
