{"id":10456,"date":"2024-04-25T17:37:34","date_gmt":"2024-04-25T15:37:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cerca.cat\/actualitat\/noticies\/narcis-monturiol-awards-recongise-five-cerca-system-researchers\/"},"modified":"2024-04-26T11:58:32","modified_gmt":"2024-04-26T09:58:32","slug":"narcis-monturiol-awards-recongise-five-cerca-system-researchers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cerca.cat\/en\/actualitat\/noticies\/narcis-monturiol-awards-recongise-five-cerca-system-researchers\/","title":{"rendered":"Narc\u00eds Monturiol Awards recongise five CERCA system researchers"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The Narc\u00eds Monturiol medals have been awarded since 1982 and recognize people and entities that work for the development of science and technology.<\/h3>\n<p>The catalan government has honored ten researchers with the Narc\u00eds Monturiol Medal for the scientific and technological merit and this year five of the awardees are part of the CERCA system.<\/p>\n<p>The awards, which were established in 1982 and are named after the inventor Narc\u00eds Monturiol, recognize people and entities that contribute to the development of science and technology.<\/p>\n<p>And the prizewinning CERCA researchers are:<\/p>\n<p><strong> Jordi Alberch Vi\u00e9<\/strong>, doctor of medicine, director of the research group of the Clinic Foundation for Biomedical Research-August Pi Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.clinicbarcelona.org\/en\/idibaps?_gl=1*1nicy3a*_up*MQ..*_ga*MTkyODkyNDU3NS4xNzE0MTI0NTk3*_ga_R4X4292K2Y*MTcxNDEyNDU5Ni4xLjAuMTcxNDEyNDU5Ni4wLjAuMA..\">FRCB-IDIBAPS<\/a>). He is an international reference in the study of the pathophysiology and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emilio Palomares Gil<\/strong>, current director of the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia\">ICIQ<\/a>) and ICREA researcher, carries out studies related to the field of energy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ana Isabel P\u00e9rez Neira<\/strong>, graduate in Electrical Engineering and director of the \u00a0Telecommunications Technological Center of Catalonia (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cttc.cat\/\">CTTC<\/a>). Her research is linked to the field of signal processing for communications and multi-antenna signals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Petia Radeva<\/strong>, graduate in Applied Mathematics and principal researcher of the Medical Imaging Lab (MiLab) of the Computer Vision Center (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cvc.uab.es\/\">CVC<\/a>). She has focused her research in the fields of computer vision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gustavo A. Slafer<\/strong>, agronomist engineer and senior researcher at the <a href=\"https:\/\/agrotecnio.org\/\">AGROTECNIO<\/a> Center.
