{"id":14182,"date":"2026-02-10T17:02:33","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T16:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cerca.cat\/actualitat\/noticies\/jordi-puigcorbe-nou-director-de-lirec\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T17:08:01","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T16:08:01","slug":"jordi-puigcorbe-appointed-as-the-new-director-of-irec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cerca.cat\/en\/actualitat\/noticies\/jordi-puigcorbe-appointed-as-the-new-director-of-irec\/","title":{"rendered":"Jordi Puigcorb\u00e9 appointed as the new Director of IREC"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The Board of Trustees of the Fundaci\u00f3 Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya (IREC) has appointed Jordi Puigcorb\u00e9 as the new Director of the centre.<\/h3>\n<p>His appointment follows an international selection process coordinated by the Instituci\u00f3 CERCA, with the participation of IREC\u2019s External Scientific Advisory Board.<\/p>\n<p>Holding a PhD in Physics from the University of Barcelona, Jordi Puigcorb\u00e9 brings more than 20 years of experience leading research, technology and innovation projects in the renewables sector, with a particular focus on onshore and offshore wind.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his career, he has held Vice President roles in Innovation and Executive Director positions in Technology and Innovation at Ecotecnia, Alstom, General Electric and Eolos, leading large international and multidisciplinary teams.<\/p>\n<p>In this new phase, IREC\u2019s leadership will continue to drive research and the development of sustainable energy solutions, strengthening knowledge transfer and collaboration with industry and public administrations to accelerate the energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>Puigcorb\u00e9 succeeds Professor Joan Ramon Morante, who is stepping down upon retirement after a decade leading the centre.
