Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia

Multifunctional forest management, landscape dynamics and biodiversity, bioeconomy, health and governance

The Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC) contributes to science for sustainable forest management, biodiversity and the circular bioeconomy with the aim of becoming a benchmark centre in the Mediterranean region from within Catalonia, by consolidating a hub of excellence in research and technology transfer to society.

It works on three basic programmes to achieve this goal: multifunctional forest management; landscape dynamics and biodiversity; and bioeconomy, health and governance. Research in these programmes focuses on key aspects, such as the balance of natural environmental functions, adaptation to climate change and competitiveness throughout value chains.
