Towards a revolutionary new technology
The ICN2 works concurrently in Scientific Research (Nanoscience, primarily via European and national collaborative projects), and in Technology Research (Nanotechnology, in areas of internal expertise and co-development with private industry). In addition to its own research activities, the Institute also engages in collaborative research, dissemination, educational and managerial activities with other institutions such as universities, scientific institutes, ministries and private companies, at regional, national and international levels.
Research at ICN2
We are focused around 4 core themes:
- Scanning probe microscopy and synchrotron radiation spectroscopy
- Physical properties of nanostructures
- Chemical properties of nanostructured Functional materials and devices Nanobiosensors
- Theory and Simulation in the nanoscaleFocused on excellence at an international level, the ICN2 is ranked amongst the top Spanish research institutes in funding awarded by the EU FP7 competitive research program.
