Catalonia’s rich cultural heritage can be exploited in a wide variety of ways, not least as a major element of the country’s attractiveness as a tourist destination. The number of people using this resource is steadily increasing. This is why the field of cultural heritage is being given greater priority, making it essential to have accurate knowledge of its key features.
The purpose of the Catalan Institute for Cultural Heritage Research (ICRPC) is to promote high-quality research organised into two main priority areas: “heritagisation” processes and the use of cultural heritage. The ICRPC hopes to increase the number of people working in cultural heritage, while becoming a support and reference centre for the many agents working with our cultural heritage.
