Advancing research into paediatric and maternal diseases

The Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute (IRSJD) is a research and innovation centre in the field of biomedicine. It was created in 2015 through a collaboration agreement between Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona, the University of Barcelona (UB), the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC), Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu and the Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation.

The IRSJD’s mission is to research health problems in paediatric medicine and how they affect human development, in both physical and mental health, with the aim of improving the health and quality of life of the population.
