Research serving the health needs of the population

The Health Sciences Research Institute of the Germans Trias i Pujol Foundation (IGTP) has a long history in conducting scientific activity in connection with Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol. This effort was rewarded in 2008 when it received accreditation as a health research institute by the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII).

The centre’s mission is the discovery, preservation, dissemination and promotion of multidisciplinary, translational knowledge and the development of technology of excellence in biomedical sciences, as part of a continuing process of qualitative improvement, through a dynamic, efficient and effective organisation.

As a benchmark research centre, IGTP’s goals are to ensure that the psychophysical health and quality of life of the population is in the best state possible, through the transfer of the knowledge, technology and innovation generated by the research programmes in clinical and therapeutic practice (translationality).
